S. Schloter: Besides the classic efficiency measures, we will be paying close attention above all to structural measures such as consistent application consolidation in the future. Of course, this must be done in a dialog of partnership with the business divisions. Furthermore, the efficiency in the development process is supposed to be increased and the efficiency management placed upon an international base.

DMR: Thank you for taking the time to give us this interview.

Dr Stefan Schloter, born in 1971, studied physics at the University of Würzburg and SUNY at Stony  Brook, New York. He earned a Master of Arts, then went to the University of Bayreuth between 1996 and 1999, earning his doctorate in the field of optical data storage units. Dr Schloter began his professional career at McKinsey & Company in 1999. He was in charge of various projects focusing on IT management in England, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, the USA, and Germany. In 2004, Stefan Schloter moved to Deutsche Telekom, where he was initially the director IT production computing at the Telekom subsidiary T-Com in Darmstadt and had special responsibility for IT service provider  management. In 2006, Dr Schloter moved to T-Com headquarters and optimized the IT landscape with respect to costs and quality. In this position as division director for IT portfolio management, planning, and quality, he also became the provisional director for IT strategy within T-Com. In 2007, Stefan Schloter was given the assignment of designing and implementing the IT strategy and the portfolio and quality management, which had been consolidated into one unit, at the Telekom subsidiary T-Home. Schloter has been a member of the Management Board of T-Systems since March 1, 2008, where he is responsible for processes, quality, and IT.
