Before, he held various senior positions in mobile networks marketing at Siemens, as commercial head of managed services at Siemens and Nokia Siemens Networks, respectively, and subsequently was a managing consultant in Detecon’s Stragtegy and Marketing competence practice, where he specialized on telco corporate finance projects. He has more than 10 years experience in the fixed and mobile telecommunications infrastructure, services, and finance business.

Manfred Schmitz is the Managing Consultant in charge of the Multi-Access Core Network team. During more than 15 years in the mobile and fixed network telecommunications business he has worked for both suppliers and for different mobile operators. Before joining Detecon he was the Senior Manager for Global Technology Planning at Vodafone Group Services.

He has over 13 years of experience in rolling out greenfield operations worldwide and has been key participant in developing telco applications for operations. His consulting experience spans project management of network roll-outs, restructuring of finance operations, developing analytical tools, and most recently been involved in backhaul network strategies, network co-location & sharing and re-deployment of network OMC’s into managed service environments and remote management.
