TETRA Requires Early Planning for Services

TETRA has long since ceased to be a vision of the future. As of today, more than one thousand systems have been installed worldwide, and government agencies in a number of European countries such as Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Poland have full-area coverage for the digital trunked radio, which is characterized by high transmission quality and economy of frequency. The digital radio standard for government agencies is still in the build-up phase in Germany. On 21 June, Wolfgang Schäuble, the Minister of the Interior, launched a reference platform which currently reaches 500 end devices in several German states.
